As I recap this year, it is amazing to realize that my company has been growing in unexpected ways - with a strong Asian focus. I have been fortunate to travel to China and Singapore twice this year as well as beautiful Mongolia, in addition to several trips to Los Angeles and Cannes. I started out in out in Miami and will start again in 2015, at NATPE
Formats continued to be a focus, I was thrilled to help Vivian Yin and Star China with the ITV Studios launch at MIPTV of the first Chinese original format - Sing My Song - now being shopped around the world, demonstrating the creativity of Chinese producers. And speaking of Vivian Yin - very happy that she was recognized for her work and was named to this year's The Hollywood Reporter Top 25 Global Women in Media.
2014 events kept me quite busy as I attended NATPE, MIPTV, SXSW, LA Screenings, Real Screen West, Content Asia Summit, MIPCOM, AFM and Asia TV Forum.
Zurich-based International Radio Festival (IRF) is now going into it's 6th year! Founder Darryl von Daniken has built up quite a unique, global music event where people can "Listen to How the World Sounds" MGC is pleased to produce the college competion for the 4th year with generous partner iBiquity HD Radio and it is great to continue working with Joe D'Angelo, Juan and iBiquity. 2015 has some exciting global events taking place. I was in Shanghai in December to meet with the Swiss Tourism Bureau and Swiss Consulate to introduce them to the IRF.
Allow me thank to some special people who have helped my company grow - Michel Rodrigue and Sylvia Kocman from The Format People; Vivian, William and Frank at Star China, Sonia Fleck and her great top Asian sales team at Bomanbridge, Nomin Chinbat at Mongol TV; the whole international sales team at GRB -- Mike, Benn, Liz, Melissa and of course GRB- Gary himself; Darryl von Daniken who has built a great even in Zurich - The International Radio Festival going into its 6th year! Also my "family" at Reed Midem who continue to make me feel very welcome. And very importantly - my top advisors - JP Bommel of Barton Creek Intl; Angie Stephenson and Georges Leclere as well as MGC social media wiz Jennifer Irizzary! Officially in the 4th year now of MGC and looking forward to another adventurous year ahead!
Next up Miami and then heading to the 2nd Annual Mongolian TV Forum in February - literally next door to Siberia!
